Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is
a semi – autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Works established on July 1,
2000. The Agency is responsible for the day to day management of the Tanzania
Mainland’s trunk and regional roads network.
Its primary functions include the management
of maintenance and development works, operations of the network and axle load
control, the implementation of road safety and environmental measures,
provision of advice on the strategic framework, policies and plans for the road
sector.

ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT – 4 POSTS
14.1.1
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs general clerical/accounts support
duties to Accountants at TANROADS Regional Offices/Headquarters;
·
Undertakes filing and record keeping duties
·
Receives and issue stores and keep proper
documentation;

Performs such other related duties as
assigned by Assistant Accountant/superiors

( Form IV) or Advanced Secondary Education
(Form VI) Certificates;

National Accounting Technician Certificate
(ATEC) level II issued by NBAA

DRIVER – 8 POSTS
14.2.1
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Drives
Agency motor vehicles
·
Keeps vehicle movement records in log book
·
Collects and distribute mail as directed by
responsible officers
·
Inspects the vehicle before and after
“safari” in order to identify defects that may need maintenance and/or repairs.
·
Ensures
scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance of the vehicle are timely done
·
Performs any such other related duties as
assigned by superiors.
14.2.2
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
·
Ordinary
( Form IV) or Advanced Secondary Education
·
(Form VI) Certificates;
·
Advanced Driving Certificates from recognised
Institution is an added advantage preferable from National Institute of
Transport (NIT).
· Experience in reputable
Institution is an added advantage;
· Must have clean track records;

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – 3 POSTS
14.3.1
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Supports and assists Accountant in Regional
Offices or Headquarters in performing variety of accounting duties such as
keeping of vote accounts, handling of cheques and record keeping;

Prepares reports under supervision of
Accountant
·
Performs such other related duties as
assigned;

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
·
Professional level II of the National Board
of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) or Diploma in Accountancy from a recognised
Institution
·
Experience in use of Accounting Packages
(i.e. E-by Epicor ) is an added advantage

14.4 RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT – 6 POSTS
14.4.1
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Keeps
records for all incoming letters.
·
Keeps records for all outgoing letters.
·
Ensures daily marking is done.
·
Maintains file movement card/register.
·
Ensures that letters are collected from the
Post Office.
·
Retrieves files and sends to the officer as
will be requested.
·
Maintains diary for ‘Bring Up’ (BU) requests.
·
Ensures files are kept in proper place.
·
Ensures that all incoming letters have their
respective attachments.
·
Ensures pre-view mail box is sent to
responsible officer.
·
Ensures that all corrections made in original
copy are reflected in the remaining copies.
·
Ensures that all outgoing letters have been
signed by the responsible officer.
·
Ensures that all outgoing letters are kept in
envelopes, writes proper addresses and are stamped accordingly.
14.4.2
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
·
Ordinary or Advanced Secondary Education and
Diploma in Records Management from a recognized institution

OFFICE ASSISTANT – 8 POSTS
14.5.1
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Prepares and serves tea, coffee and
refreshments.
·
Reports to Office Supervisor discrepancies on
cleanliness done by outsourced company personnel
·
Moves files and documents as directed.
·
Undertakes photocopying and/or binding of
documents as directed.
·
Dispatches letters or parcels.
·
Collects letters from the post office.
·
Ensures office equipment is kept in proper
places.
·
Performs any such other related duties as may
be assigned by superior
14.5.2
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
·
Holders
of National Form IV or VI Certificate.
·
Holder of Record Management Certificate
·
Be able to communicate in English and being
fluently in Kiswahili;
·
Must have a clean track record;
14.5.3

14.6 PERSONAL SECRETARY– 5 POSTS
14.6.1
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Type open and confidential memos, letters,
diagrams, reports, minutes and circulars.
·
Arranges and manages Director’s/Managers’
diary for appointments and commitments.
·
Receives and connects
customers/clients/guests to officers concerned.
·
Ensures quality production of booklets for
reports, projects and papers.
·
Ensures proper records keeping and retrieval.
·
Attends telephone calls.
·
Performs such other related duties as may be
required by superiors.
14.6.2
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
·
Holders
of National Form IV or VI Certificate.
·
Must have passed typing stage III with speed
of not less than 80 w.p.m from a recognised Institution.
·
Must possess computer knowledge especially in
Microsoft office; internet; email and publisher;
·
Must have a clean track record;
