Alimak Raise Miner / Trainer , Bulyanhulu Gold Mine

ALIMAK RAISE MINER TRAINER 

African Barrick Gold’s Bulyanhulu Gold Mine seeks to employ an Alimak Raise Miner/ Trainer. The successful incumbent will provide leadership and direction to the operational mining team to ensure compliance with safety, environment and security standards, and optimize safe production at minimum cost. This position reports to the Mine Captain and will be on a rotational basis of 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off. 

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
• Train Tanzanian Raise Miners, and develop and promote a safe and healthy work environment. 
• Provide effective on the job training and coaching to ensure all employees learn new skills and achieve their maximum potential. 
• Install and use (Alimak) Mechanized Raise Climbers. 
• Ensure all personnel are aware of BGML safety and environmental policies and procedures, and ensure compliance at all times. 
• Ensure all Operational Safe Work Procedures are adhered to at all times. 
• Assist to achieve and sustain production targets. 

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES 

Education Requirements: 
• High School Certificate or Equivalent 

Experience Requirements: 
• A minimum of 5 years experience as an Alimak raise Miner including: 
o Stopper drill, jack leg drill, installation of ground support, development, stoping and raising 
o Strong leadership skills 
o Strong organizational skills 
o Knowledge of underground timbering would be an asset 
o Previous expat work would be an asset
