Lindi and Mtwara Agribusiness Support project ‘LIMAS’ is a bilateral development project, funded jointly by the Governments of Tanzania and Finland. The purpose of LIMAS is to assist rural population generate increased income through developing agriculture and forestry production, processing and marketing.
LIMAS is implemented by individual entrepreneurs and private companies, farmers and forest users, and
supported by Newala and Liwale District Councils, consultants, service providers and LIMAS Technical Assistance (TA) team. The TA team has five national and international senior consultants and four junior experts. The project administrative team, consisting of three staff members, is in charge of financial administration, office management and support services to the project. LIMAS has its main office is in Mtwara and additional offices in Newala and in Liwale.
Administrative Assistant (ADA)
LIMAS is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join the project team in Mtwara office. If you
are principled, have relevant work experience, are willing to learn new things and are able to
operate in an international team, you could be our new ‘ADA’ with the following tasks:
• Support the project financial administration in preparation of advance requests and retirements,
payment of goods and services, monitoring of the use funds, monthly reconciliation;
• Support in organizing LIMAS logistics (7MVs), follow up the use of fleet and log books;
• Assist the TA team in organising trainings, seminars, meetings and field visits;
• Perform periodical inventories of fixed assets;
• Support the TA team in project activity and progress monitoring, data entries and reporting;
The duty station of ADA is in Mtwara, however, the position requires frequent travels to Newala and
Liwale districts. The ADA reports to LIMAS Financial and Administrative Manager.
Qualifications:
• At least Diploma Certificate in administration/accounting, and minimum of three years of experience
in financial administration or secretarial and/or accounting services; Experience from bilateral
development projects is an asset;
• Personal integrity; ability to perform independently without constant supervision;
• Good organisational abilities and respect to dead-lines;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to operate in multi-sectoral and multi-cultural
teams and with rural communities;
• Fluency in verbal and written Kiswahili and English languages;
• Fluency in the use main office applications (MS Office/Word and Excel in particular);
• Adaptable with frequent travels in rural environment with modest facilities.
Duration of the task: Till July/August 2015.
