Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
The Governance Unit is responsible for the internal governance of the global organisation at the Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) and it facilitates the development of and helps ensure a strong, integer and relevant TI Movement that fulfils its mission efficiently and in full abidance with the values that it promotes, and in respect of the diversity and high independence of its constituents
Main function: TI's internal governance issues and Accreditation process
Starting date: 19 May 2014, preferably
Duration: Three months, full time, Monday to Friday
Unit: Governance
Remuneration: EUR 450 (according to the German labour and social security law)
Location: Berlin, Germany
Key tasks:
• Assist in the development of a database and in the implementation of assessment tools
• Publishing and editing of online content
• Support logistical preparations in the context of the international Board of Directors meeting in June and towards TI’s international Annual Membership Meeting (scheduled to take place in mid-October 2014 in Tunis)
• Foster use of web-based solutions in the unit, including preparing the framework for live-streaming of our Annual Membership Meeting sessions
• Assist the Unit work in maintaining TI's internal governance including optimisations in the implementation of the accreditation process
• Assistance in the correspondence with TI partners throughout the world
Knowledge, experience, interests and skills:
• Fluent English
• Prior office experience is required
• Experience in database development and in automated processing of evaluation questionnaires (e.g. for empirical social or marketing research)
• Good knowledge of internet-based networking solutions
• Solid computer skills (e-mail, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access).
• German as an advantage
• Web-streaming experience as an advantage
• Experience in conference-organising as an advantage
• Students with IT, marketing or social sciences backgrounds are encouraged to apply
