Pine Business Manager at Sao Hill Industries - Tanzania

The selected candidate will manage the company’s pine business improving product profitability, reporting to the General Manager. A summary of the duties are:

 Overseeing the entire pine production process and drawing up a production schedule
 Create business plans and budgets focusing on profitability of the business unit
 Design new products which will enhance the business units’ profitability
 Utilise raw materials in the most efficient way, reducing waste and costs
 Daily communication with sales team
 Learning market demands to be able to develop new products and satisfy customer needs more
    efficiently
 Ensuring timely, efficient production of timber to the required quantities and quality, while managing
    production costs
 Monitoring products standards and implementing quality control programs
 Assessing resource requirements, both human and material
 Maintenance of equipment in co-operation with the technical team at SHI
 Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
 Identifying training needs

The position is based at Sao Hill Industries, Mafinga, Iringa, Tanzania.

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate shall have:

 At least 5 years’ experience of managing a wood-based manufacturing business unit
 Creativity and production skills
 Excellent financial reporting
 Negotiation and interpersonal skills
 Education in the field of forestry is an advantage
 Worked in a health & safety focused environment
 Good English and computer skills
 Readiness to travel, learn and develop
