The NUSTART (Nutritional Support for Africans Starting Antiretroviral Therapy) is a two centre (Mwanza, Tanzania and Lusaka, Zambia) randomised controlled trial funded by the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership. It is led by the LSHTM with collaborators in Zambia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Denmark, the USA and London. We seek an epidemiologist to conduct data management for the NUSTART clinical trial, undertake statistical analysis of the trial, and prepare results for publication.
The post-holder must be able to work independently, although with communication and support from senior investigators. The ideal applicant will have a postgraduate qualification in epidemiology or statistics, experience in data management, and excellent skills in communication and writing. They will need to demonstrate initiative when faced with challenges and academic ability to overcome challenges. They should be willing to travel occasionally to the African study sites.
The appointment is available from 10 September 2012 and is currently funded until 14 November 2013. The appointment will be made on the School's Academic Pathway Grade 5. The salary will be in the range of £31,065 - £35,661 per annum, inclusive.
