Job responsibilities:
1. Effective staff development.
• Minimum 5 years experience in management and staff development;
• Overseeing Human Resource policy and procedure creating HR handbook aligned with host country policies and procedures for regular performance assessment of staff;
• Providing technical support and development opportunities for staff capacity building;
• Design, conduct, and identify workshops for staff development;
• Conduct staff reviews bi-annually accessing challenges and implementing policies that promote professionalism and capacity building;
• Create and promote open and transparent working environment;
2. Development of future Community Based Organization partners in East Africa
• Identify and screen community based grassroots organizations serving orphans and vulnerable children affected by the HIV and AIDS epidemic in East Africa;
• Understanding of programmatic goals and objectives for partnerships;
• Ensure that staff actively contributes to effective coordination with outside international and national organizations working with OVC’s and share similar objectives;
• Ensuring CHABHA and partners operate to safeguard all stakeholders;
• Understanding and promotion of child’s rights;
• Collaboration with partners to design objectives and goals of partnership;
• Development and understanding of partners needs and incorporate CHABHA model and approach to achieve programmatic goals and objectives of CHABHA and its partners;
• Implement monitoring and evaluation systems to measure outcomes and tracking of programs;
3. Budget, Grant and proposal writing, reporting, and resource management
• Oversee budget preparation for East Africa operations and partners;
• Develop partnerships with international and national organizations working with OVC’s and the households that create economic independence for the beneficiaries;
• Experience in grant proposal writing;
• Develop and maintain universal Monitoring and Evaluation reporting of project outcomes and assessments among partners for donor reports;
• Oversee communications of grant and partner reports to all donors and partners;
• Train partners in budget preparation for donors and partners;
• Experience in preparing and implementing budget for partners and donors;
• Negotiating purchase and MOU’s of capital equipment, and rent;
• Maintain and security of all capital equipment and properties of NGO;
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred;
• Demonstrated abilities in NGO reporting, budgeting, procurement, and project management;
• Program performance management, including program monitoring and evaluation;
• Capacity to develop and mentor a team of highly qualified professionals;
• Ability to collaborate with people and organizations of diverse backgrounds;
• Excellent facilitation, analytical and organizational skills;
• Advanced Excel, and financial management skills;
• Minimum five years experience working with international organization;
• Written and oral skills in English, Kinyarwanda and Swahili;
• Current Passport required;
