CHF International’s mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income communities around the world helping them improve their social, economic, and environmental conditions.
CHF International is seeking Chief of Party (COP) candidates for anticipated agriculture and private sector development projects in Africa and Central America. These programs will support economic growth to rural farmers to improve livelihoods and develop sustainable linkages between smallholder farmers and agricultural input suppliers and/or associations.
The COP will provide the overall management and general technical direction of the programs; will serve as a representative to the programs liaising with the donor and other partners; will manage coordination with CHF/HQ; will be responsible for the programs achieving target results; will identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner; and will suggest appropriate program adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Business Administration, or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of prior experience in a field capacity, designing, implementing, and managing large-scale, complex agricultural value chain, agribusiness, and/or rural development projects for USAID, USDA, the World Bank and/or other donors.
- Experience working to increase production and trade of agricultural products through the formation and strengthening of farmer group enterprises, as well as value chain or agribusiness associations.
- Experience strengthening agricultural value chains by introducing new technology, participatory planning of production and marketing activities, improved market information, and targeted business development services.
- Demonstrated success working with private sector, agribusinesses, and government stakeholders to achieve improvements in incomes, productivity, or job creation.
- In-depth knowledge of USAID programmatic, compliance and reporting requirements
- Significant knowledge of value chain and rural agriculture best practices.
- Ability to represent CHF to donors, the host government and community stakeholders.
- Proven experience managing budgets and achieving work-plan deliverables.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English required; second language desired.
