• Liaise with JAM HR to integrate JAM International’s community-based development approach and principles within the staff orientation and induction processes. • Work as a valued member of the JAM Program Development Unit, contributing to the unit’s strategic objectives and support to JAM Country Offices.

Knowledge, skills and experience: • A solid understanding of community-based development principles and approaches. • Experience in adult learning curriculum design, training delivery and learning facilitation preferably in the field of health, agriculture and/or social services.
• Competency assessment training and experience a distinct advantage • Experience in building a field-based community of development practice • Knowledgeable in JAM International’s working environment and Africa rural communities in particular; an ability to operate effectively and sensitively in the cultural context of Africa.
Qualifications: • University degree in health, education, agriculture and/or the social sciences. • Minimum of 5 – 7 years experience in field of staff development and training • Fluent in the English language and proficient in the Portuguese language; French language skills is a plus. • Must be prepared to travel 60% of the time. • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license – Subject to passing the JAM driving test. • To be based in Africa and initially in South Africa. A South African work permit will be required.
