The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a leading global humanitarian and post-conflict development organisation working in more than 20 conflict-affected countries worldwide.
IRC-UK is the European headquarters, established in 1997 as an independent British charity. IRC-UK contributes to programme management, fundraising for overseas programmes, and policy and advocacy on conflict-related issues in Britain and Europe.
This position, inside IRC-UK’s International Programme Team (IPT), is central to IRC-UK’s grant management function as it provides strong support to the field teams and ensures the overall quality of donor relationships during the project implementation. The position requires a motivated, flexible, problem-solving team-player with excellent English communication skills, and the ability to prioritise activities and work to tight deadlines.
The main purpose of the position is to manage the successful implementation of the contractual requirements with programme monitoring and reporting of IRC UK’s European grants. The Regional Grants Officers (RGO’s), are tasked with ensuring a high quality of grants reporting, maximising the impact of narrative reporting, and ensuring high-quality compliance and financial reporting.
Reporting to the Senior Grants Manager (SGM), the officers will coordinate day-to-day with the regional teams and will work in close liaison with the Regional Programme Manager (RPM) for the same geographic area, as follows:
Work in a team of RGO’s under the management of the SGM, to ensure high quality support to the field in relation to managing a strong European grant portfolio;
Work closely with IRC field offices to ensure quality project implementation and timely European donor reporting;
Liaise closely with IRC UK’s finance department on all matters of financial management.
IRC-UK is ideally looking for a person combining experience in programme implementation and reporting and a project-based finance and accounting management background. The position requires skills and interest in both the financial and narrative aspects of project monitoring, reporting and compliance.
