The organisation works to improve not only the health of the individual, but also the capacity of national health systems, which helps relieve poverty and support improved economic prosperity.
Malaria Consortium (MC) manages a wide range of communicable disease projects in a number of countries. These projects range from technical support at central government level to direct implementation of projects for the control of malaria, pneumonia, diarrhoeal diseases, tuberculosis and neglected tropical diseases at district and community levels.
The case Management Specialist will provide technical support and oversight to country offices on case management relating to its broad communicable disease portfolio. He person will be required to travel up to 40% of the time within and outside the region.
The successful candidate should have;
· A medical/clinical or nursing undergraduate degree.
· At least five (5) years experience working on case management of malaria and any of the other communicable diseases of which at least two (2) years of practical field experience in a developing country.
· Solid and up to date understanding of malaria case management and other causes of childhood fevers.
· Fluent written and spoken English.
· Willingness to work within a team of technical specialists.
· Good mentoring skills and a commitment to national and expatriate staff capacity development.
· Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office.
