System Engineer

Talinda East Africa is a solution integrator and Value added reseller of VOIP solutions to ISP and service providers, IP PBX solutions to SME and corporate, Wi-Fi and microwave solutions to different markets.

We have a vacancy for a System Engineer with a bias to IP Voice solutions. Your mission will be to design, present, implement, manage and support the next generation voice architecture.

You will be required to have good business acumen, not only managing technical aspects but also all the revenues and margin targets for Services in your segment. You may also be involved in offering services in other business areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and commission, manage and support Voip and IP Telephony solutions
• Project Management of all solution deployment projects
• Pre-sales assistance to the sales team on VOIP and IP Telephony requirements
• Make Customer presentations in conjunction with sales
• Manage support contracts, SLA’s and all install base infrastructure
• Manage the companies Service portfolio including financial target achievement, budgeting and growth
• Product development in conjunction with Marketing
• Weekly meeting and progress reporting

Experience/skill requirements

• 1-3 years experience in handling Voice solutions and or IP Telephony
• Working experience with Asterisks or any of its derivatives
• Working Experience with service provider architecture an added advantage
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels
• Good planning and organizational skills

Knowledge/Educational requirements

• University degree or HND in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or any other related course
• Diploma graduates with 2-3 years good Voice experience can also apply
• Good understanding of business processes and customer management
• Cisco Certified Voice Professionals have an added advantage or other manufacturer certifications on Voice
