African Rural University (ARU) licenced by National Council for Higher Education in 2011 Licence No. Ul PL 017, is the first specialized rural female only university offering a Bachelor of Science in Technologies for Rural Transformation. Founded by Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme (URDT), ARU is focused on providing women with the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to be effective rural development specialists, change agents and rural entrepreneurs. The university introduces all students to technologies for creating and systems thinking techniques that enable all participants have a deep understanding and relevant skills for innovations in rural development

Position Lecturers
BSC. Technologies for Rural Transformation (TRT)

Reports to: The Dean
Responsibilities:
• Offer lecture room learning and field based experiments in fulfillment of the curriculum objectives
• Develop relevant training modules, constantly evaluate and update the modules based on student feedback.
• Conduct research on behalf of the University in line with the University Research Policy
• Support library and relevant resource acquisition
• Offer tutorial sessions
• Develop, offer and mark examinations and relevant coursework as guided by the University academic calendar.
• Provide supervision support and liaison services between the students on internship and or project work, the community members and the University management.
• As a team member participates in University initiatives and represents the department in committee work and meetings.
• Be a team player, offering personal mastery in the creation of long and short range plans for establishing a culture of academic excellence and mastery of visionary leadership.

Job requirement
Qualifications:
• Masters Degree and preferably PhD holders in any of the following fields:
• Development Management; Development Studies; Anthropology. Agro-ecology; Public health; Rural technologies; Demography.
• Basic experience in module writing. Skills and experience in project supervision Good track record in research Good verbal and communication skills Proven track record of publications, particularly in referred journals
