Senior Finance Officer Job Location: Juba, South Sudan (with travel to sub-offices as required) Administrative Line Manager: Country Director, South Sudan Technical Line Manager: Chief Finance Officer, Brussels Salary scale: 2,200-2,500 Euros gross per month Job Purpose The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for the full financial management - financial reporting and control and accountability of NP South Sudan’s financial situation in order to ensure the financial security of the organization necessary to implement programming, and to provide support for insurance and other related processes. Key Responsibilities 1. Support the Country Director in the preparation and monitoring of program budgets; 2. Manage all stages of the accounts processes and ensure they are in accordance with best practices and NP procedures 3. Produce timely monthly Finance Management Reporting Package as per schedule and requirements set out in NP Finance Policies and Procedures; 4. Support the Country Director in ensuring that ll procurements are processed in accordance with NP rules and regulations of external procurement; 5. Facilitate annual external financial audit; 6. Be sufficiently familiar with the financial management and reporting requirements of donor grant agreements and prepare financial reports for donors as required; 7. Liaise with donors and Brussels office regarding grant financial information as required; 8. Implement all recommendations by internal and external auditors related to the improvement of administrative and financial management; 9. Manage support staff, as designated by the Country Director; 10. Perform other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications Required: * Bachelor or Master in Accounting, Finance or Business Management; * Minimum 5 years work experience in finance, preferably with a humanitarian non-governmental organization; * Demonstrated successful experience in managing the finance function; * Demonstrated ability to live, work and solve problems independently and effectively in extremely remote locations; * Skills in budgeting and budgetary control; * Understanding of grants management – ability to provide the necessary information to grants’ managers and prepare financial reports to multiple donors; * Skill in communicating effectively orally and in the development of written documents, reports, and financial information; * Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment; * Ability to set priorities and work to deadlines; * Good computer skills in Microsoft Office applications required; * Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required; knowledge of local language desirable; * Understanding and commitment to Nonviolent Peaceforce mission and objectives essential; * Experience with Quick Books accounting software desirable.
