INVITATION FOR BIDS

April, 2011

Weighs and Measures Agency (WMA) set aside funds for Renovation of rigid pavement & construction of Calibration Center during the financial year 2010/2011.

1. The Weights and Measures Agency (WMA) now invites sealed bids from eligible contractors registered in Class seven and above for construction of Renovation of rigid pavement & construction of Calibration Center.

2. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Selection procedures specified in the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non Consultants, 2005 – Government Notice No. 97 and is open to national Bidders only as defined in the Regulations unless otherwise stated in the Bid Data Sheet.

3. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the Bidding Documents at the office of the Secretary, Weights and Measures Agency (WMA) Tender Board, Uhuru Street, Mwalimu House 4th Floor, P. O. Box 1 Dar es Salaam, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public holidays.

4. A complete set of Bidding Document(s) in English language and additional sets may be purchased by interested Bidders on the submission of the written application to the address given under paragraph 3 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of hundred thousand only (Tshs, 100,000/=) Payment should either be by Cash, Banker's Draft, or Banker's Cheque, payment should either be by Cash, Bankers Draft, or Banker's Cheque, payable to Commissioner for Weights and Measures, P. O. Box 313, Dare s Salaam.

5. All Bids must be accompanied by a bid securing declaration in the format provided in the Bidding documents.

6. All bids in one original plus two copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes must be delivered to the Secretary Weights and Measures Agency (WMA) Tender Board, uhuru Street, Mwalimu House 4th Floor P. O. Box 313 Dar es Salaam.

7. Deadline of submission tender is on Monday 29th May 2011. Before 10:00 hrs local time and will be opened promptly thereafter choose to attend in the presence of Bidders representatives who choose to attend in the opening at conference room of Weights and Measures Agency (WMA), Uhuru Street, Mwalimu House 4th Floor, Dar es Salaam.

8. All tenderer must be delivered by hand at the office of Secretary of Tender Board located at 4th Floor, room no. 02 of the wing “A” Mwalimu house or by postal address provided in no.6

9. Late bids, portion of bids, electronic bids, bids not received, bids not opened and not read out I public at the bid opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstance.
