JOB TITLE: LINE TECHNICIAN

REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE CONTROLLER

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To maintain repair and optimize machines and associated devices to ensure machine availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining standards.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

v Locat machine equipment, relevant spares documentation/systems.

v Plan and prepare the job

v Carry out repairs /maintenance

v Continuously improve (optimize) machines

v Operate machines and process equipment

v Resolve and eliminate problems.

v Coach process artisans Apprentices and process operators

v Trend machine performance

v Quality of 5-why completion and root cause analysis

v Conduct engineering administration

v Contribute to problem solving

v Facilitate effective team dynamics

v Identify problems or potential problems

v Support the development and drive for the implementation plans to progress maturity in the manufacturing way principles and practices

THE PERSON

v FTC Engineering plus SABM Packaging Diploma

v Ideal:Engineer

Experience

v Process /Maintenance Artisal

v 3-4 years experience as a technical on high speed packing lines
