The Fellowship Program for Intellectual Exchange is a program designed by The Japan Foundation to provide selected intellectuals with an opportunity to visit Japan and conduct their own individual research on a chosen topic as well as networking/exchange activities.
The research topic must be one that is appropriate for visiting Japan in the fields of humanities or social sciences, or for those who have practical experience in research, media, or non-profit organizations.
The duration of the fellowship is from 30 days to 60 days, between 20th May 2015 and 15th March 2016.
Applicant must be under 45 years old at the point of April 1, 2015 (students are not eligible).

- Fully Completed Application Form (including a free format project proposal within 5 pages)
- Curriculum Vitae(free format)
- One Reference Letter (use either “Reference Form” or a free format reference letter. The letter must be directly sent from the referee to the Embassy.)
- List of publications (optional)
- Letter of Affiliation (The letter must be sent directly from an applicant's academic advisor in Japan to the Japan Foundation Headquarters by 19th December 2014. An applicant should find his/her own affiliated institutions and advisors in Japan.)
- Certificate of English language proficeincy (if any)

- Wednesday 10th December Interview at the Embassy of Japan in Dar es Salaam
