Job Summary:
To create awareness among the communities through participatory and community-centered approaches to recruit study participants and maintain high levels of support and understanding of the project in the community. To coordinate implementation of the research study activities at the health facility and community level; support training, monitoring and research activities; facilitate collective problem solving; promote quality assurance; strengthen linkages and information exchange between program staff, stakeholders and study participants.
Responsibilities:
- Community Awareness, Sensitization, Mobilization
- Engender support of key leaders, stimulate involvement of local stakeholders for all aspects of the study. Provide progress updates, address challenges, clear misconceptions and capacity building among key actors at health facility and community level.
- Field Trial Preparation
- Facilitate/lead required trainings and supervision at the community levels for study screening, participant enrollment and sensitization, and product monitoring and distribution.
- Data Collection, Data Management, and Monitoring
- Quality assurance and frequent monitoring of health facilities during the field trial to ensure products are properly stored, distributed, and rations have been properly recorded. Support the baseline, midpoint, and final data collection at the health facilities, and contribute to proper data collection, recording, and management; monitor stock levels and distribution reports at health facilities.
- Commodity Management
- Support the receipt, storage, handling, preparation, distribution, and recording/tracking of food commodities for the provision of FBF products to study participants in designated health facilities; assist in planning procurement and distribution of supplies; ensure proper monitoring and stocking of HFs.
- Facilitate distribution and monitoring of study products at the health facilities; participate in a ToT and train local health facility staff to properly distribute and monitor products during field trial.
Representation
Represent PCI in strategic forums at village and ward levels and sharing with the Site Coordinator the outcomes of such meetings.
Knowledge:
At least a University Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences, Public Health, Community Development, Nursing, or other relevant field; or at least 4 years of relevant community based experience and computer literacy
Functional Skills:
Ability and official license to ride a motorcycle, Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel) and high level of familiarity with the respective districts and wards preferred. Willingness to work and live at ward level.
Professional Attributes:
Previous experience in research, monitoring and evaluation, and data collection is an added advantage
At least 2 years of community-based experience
