Are you an experienced fundraiser and want to be part of a truly international conservation team?

BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation Partnership. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.

We are looking for someone to develop and implement our fundraising strategies and activities to secure resources in order to implement and support BirdLife Programmes in Africa. You will work closely with colleagues around the globe in order to expand and strengthen funding for the BirdLife Partnership. 

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of biodiversity conservation and non-profit organisations, alongside a proven track record of grant writing, donor management and making funding applications. You will additionally have strong communication, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to work to high standards with tight deadlines.

Experience & Knowledge
1	Master’s degree or equivalent experience
2	Demonstrable knowledge and experience in grant writing and donor management for environmental non-profit organisations
3	Proven track record of successful applications from EU (development and environmental budget lines), bilateral donors, and Trusts and Foundations with a nature conservation and community-based natural resources management focus
4	Experience of researching funding opportunities from EU, Trusts, Foundations and Corporates
5	Working experience with environmental and nature conservation NGOs
6	Good understanding of conservation and development issues in Africa
7	Excellent knowledge of project design (logical framework approach and similar tools), proposal writing, fundraising/marketing and donor relations management
8	Knowledge of biodiversity conservation and of the role of birds in conservation strategies
9	Knowledge and understanding of BirdLife’s work
Skills & Abilities
10	Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work with people with various levels of competence
11	Ability to work to high standards with tight deadlines
12	The ability to analyse complex problems and generate creative and pragmatic solutions
13	Good team working skills, can motivate others as well as him/herself
14	High standard of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and social media). Working knowledge of Raisers Edge an advantage
15	Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
16	Oral and written fluency in English. Additional languages are a plus, French in particular
