Core Project Manager - Tanzania - 12 month contract extendable

Role Purpose To manage the successful delivery of core network modernization projects in the Africa region Core Modernization New Data-Center New BSCs Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities and duties: (5-8 key points/sentences) Delivery of multiple projects across countries in Africa that will transform our core network infrastructure Management of team of project managers who will be based in local operations within Africa Accountable for management of delivery performance of the key vendor(s) contracted to deliver the projects in the field Responsible for ensuring effective contract management is performed, to ensure that any commercial issues do not affect delivery Control of Programme finances and expenditure, including purchase order management, spend forecasting, reporting and receipting processes Programme reporting as defined by the PMO using the company’s standard reporting processes and tools. Management of key stakeholders involved in the programme Risk and Issue management - ensuring all major issues are managed or escalated to relevant stakeholders Travel requirements … Will require frequent travel to a number of our operations within Africa. Position Requirements Specific Job Skills/ Qualifications: oBachelor Degree in Telecommunications or other technology based subject, Project Managing qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, etc) oMust have excellent knowledge of mobile core network architectures with experience of circuit switched, packet switched and IP core networks supporting Computer Skills/Tools: Use of main Microsoft applications including MS Project Language skills: English (mandatory), French (an advantage) APPLY About Millicom Millicom is a rapidly-growing company with a unique business model, providing digital lifestyle services in emerging markets.
