1.4 SENIOR BIODIVERSITY TECHNICIAN I – (1 POST)

1.4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Dries, treats, mounts and stores specimens for the purpose of training, research and museum

Demonstrates to students, applications of field/laboratory/herbarium/ taxidermy techniques

Prepares equipment and materials for practical training

Assists Lecturers in setting, invigilating and marking practical examinations

Inspects, cleans and locates specimen displays and equipment

Keeps records of specimens and replaces old or damaged plant, cultural, mineral resources and animal specimens

Maintains accurate arrangements and records of plant and animal specimens

1.4.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree (NTA 8) in Wildlife Management or Biodiversity Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution,

Must possess skills in herbarium, taxidermy and oesteology management and biodiversity and cultural resources identification, preservation and management

At least seven (7) years of working experience in the relevant field

Assesses the systems clientele needs,

3.0 DAR ES SALAAM MARITIME INSTITUTE (DMI)

Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) is an Insititute under the Ministry of Transport established by an Act of Parliament No. 22 of 1991. DMI is a specialized Institute for Maritime Education and Training. It develops and produce competent trained and qualified Maritime personnel for World shipping industry.

5.0 KIBAHA EDUCATION CENTRE (KEC)

Kibaha Education Centre is a multi-purpose Educational Institution that is located in Coast Region (Tumbi area) about 40 kilometers (24 miles) West of Dar es Salaam along Morogoro Road. This Centre started in 1963. Kibaha Education Centre (KEC) was established through Act No.17 of 1969. The overall objective of the Centre as originally conceived was, combating three enemies of development namely Poverty, Ignorance and Diseases in integrated approach.

11.0  THE E-GOVERNMENT AGENCY (EGA)

The e-Government Agency (eGA) is established under the Executive Agencies Act, Cap 245 as a semi-autonomous institution, with the mandate of coordination, oversight and provision of e-Government initiatives and enforcement of e-Government standards in the public service. The establishment of eGA is one among several initiatives by the Government to operationalize the National ICT Policy (2003).

Provide management with right information on the manner in which the organization should be represented in the legal matters such as suits, investigations, administrative proceedings, in order to smoothly safeguard the interest of the Centre.

Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre is located in the foothills of the snow capped, Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. It was opened in March 1971 by the Good Samaritan Foundation, who planned and raised large funds to build and equip it.
