Position Description:
Reports to: Head, Finance Department
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage effectively human resources under your area of your responsibility, by leading and supervising execution of their duties and responsibility
Manage and coordinate revenue collection functions from both internal and external sources of income
Develop performance targets and evaluates job performance of staff working under your area of supervision
Participate in recruitment process and coordinate orientation and on job training of new and existing staff
Coordinate preparation of Annual Action Plan and Budget which focus on priorities
Design strong internal controls over revenue collection system and monitor its implementation
Develop and implement strategies to improve revenue generation from both internal and external sources of income Plan and implement strategies to collect un-paid fees from public and private in-patients
Develop a strong revenue verification system and supervise its implementation
Design and implement a mechanism to check authenticity of receipts issued to patients before accessing needed services Prepare medical service bills for services provided to all corporate and insurance clients and dispatch the same by 15th of the following month
Make close follow up to collect dues from credit clients Ensure that credit services are provided to only clients who have valid contract for services
Monitor adherence to exemption policy and other policies relevant to revenue collection
Prepare reliable, relevant and complete reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to assist management in making informed decisions
Assist External and Internal Auditors to perform audit assignments
Prepare and submit written responses to audit findings and ensure auditor's recommendations are implemented in time.
Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS
Required Qualifications and Experience
Applicants to this position must have a Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution with Certified Public Accountant Professional Certificate (CPA) and
registered with NBAA
Masters degree in Finance/ MBA or Post graduate Diploma in
Finance will be an added advantage.
Must have at least five to six years of working experience in the relevant field
Must have managerial working experience of at least three years
Good working knowledge of computerized financial systems desired
Fluent in both written and spoken English and Swahili
