icipe—African Insect Science for Food and Health is an intergovernmental organisation funded by governmental aid agencies, UN organisations and private foundations to carry out research and training in environmentally sound and sustainable management of arthropods for improving health and agricultural productivity in the tropics.

This is a national (local) position that offers two-year contracts that are renewable.
Responsibilities
i. Overall duties
Provide administrative, financial, logistic and secretarial assistance to the coordinator and other project personnel.

- Prepare and monitor requisitions for project coordination and management
- Maintain office filing system
- Prepare minutes of the meetings
- Update contents in project website
- Provide logistical support for conduct of project training courses/workshops
- Assist in travel and hospitality arrangements for in-coming and out-going official missions
- Follow up with the implementing partners and sub-contractors for progress report, and submission of reports.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one years’ work experience in project assistance.
- The candidate should be aged 35 or below.
The candidate must also possess the following attributes:
- Demonstrate skills in office administration and management
- Possess knowledge and proficiency in finance/accounting principles
- Demonstrate skills in budget management and follow up on finance and administrative issues
- Proficiency in computers with excellent working knowledge of MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, spreadsheets and web content management
- Good organisation, interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and ability to organise work to respect deadlines with minimum supervision
- Good knowledge and communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Must be prepared to work beyond office hours as and when required to ensure completion of tasks.
