Total package of circa £38,215 - £41,552 (approximately $60,315 - $66,582*) per annum, including salary, per diem and hardship allowance.
Since 2004, MAG has been working in DRC on a range of clearance activities aimed at decreasing the risks posed by the remnants of conflict. MAG’s work has enabled communities to protect themselves from death and injury as well as opening up access to land and essential facilities. Further, in cooperation with Congolese authorities MAG DRC has so far destroyed over 122,997 weapons and 842.20 tons of ammunition, making the country a considerably safer place.
MAG is seeking a Construction Project Manager who will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction project, aimed at the rehabilitation and construction of an ammunitions storage area in Kisangani, DRC.
You will have a wide range of responsibilities including construction management, finance management, human resources, logistics and grant management. The successful candidate will therefore need previous experience of managing complex overseas projects on time and within budget, ideally within a developing country. You should also have substantial knowledge of the development and evaluation of engineering design and construction contracts, bills of quantities and specifications. In addition, the post-holder will need a professional qualification in construction, engineering or architecture.
MAG operates across a range of areas in DRC and the post-holder will be based in Kisangani. You will therefore need to have the independence and confidence to be managed from a distance.
