Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), in partnership with our Africa and the Middle East (AME) Area Office (AO) are excited to announce the opening for our Resource Development Manager for our AME region. This exciting and rewarding opportunity will be responsible for the management, planning, and evaluation of multiple units throughout our AME region and collaborate with internal teams (both area office staff and National Organizations) to maximize our Foundations, Organizations, and Institutions (FOI) growth for the area. The ideal candidate will exercise a high level of judgment in making financial transactions (ex: fund-raising and contract negotiation) within the context of an approved budget and procedures.
The Resource Development Manager will be based at our AO in Pretoria, South Africa and involve up to 30% travel throughout the region. This key position will report to the Resource Development and Communications (RD&C) Director, and be responsible for encouraging, maintaining and enhancing the AME RD&C Department’s relationships with its donors and those interfacing with donors on behalf of the Department. The position will seek to encourage support for HFH AME from all potential sources.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years’ experience in grant/proposal writing; excellent, written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Internet Explorer, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Access
- Excellent organizational, research and planning skills
- International NGO experience within the Africa and the Middle East context (preferably in region concerned) will be a distinct advantage
- Experience working in cross-cultural settings
- Bachelor’s degree essential
- Fluency in English required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE A MAJOR PLUS:
- Ideal candidates will also have experience writing proposals for or working with specific donors such as USAID, EU, World Bank, UNDP; Experience in Africa and/or Middle East countries highly desirable
- Ability to work in cross functional teams and reporting to a variety of project managers
- Creative thinker needed for the creation and formulation of plans, contracts and proposal; intensive research, using both written and electronic means; ability to quickly and accurately assess and qualify donor prospects
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent training and mentoring skills
- Ability to think and act independently and make decisions within scope of job and responsibilities
- Arabic, French or Portuguese language ability preferred
