At the Southern Africa Bureau, at the International Department , a vacancy exists for a
Programme Officer 36 hours per week from October 1st 2011 till September 30st 2012
Expectations In close co-operation with the bureaus members, you will make an important contribution to the formulation and implementation of Oxfam Novib policy with regard to Southern Africa Region and especially Mozambique, Angola and Zimbabwe. Attention to the partners’ programmes, from the identification phase to implementation and evaluation is an essential part. You will synchronise, co-ordinate, negotiate, plan and bring plans and programs to a conclusion in consultation with the other team members. You will maintain direct contacts with partners, external donors and other individuals and institutions, which are relevant to the execution of your work.
Job requirements
• You have completed an academic course in a discipline relevant to development cooperation. • You have demonstrable recent and substantial work experience with NGO’s in the region, with a focus on advocacy and campaigning. • You have developed a vision on socio-economic and political developments in the region in relation to the globalisation process. • You have experience in managing complex multi stake-holder programs. • You have experience in external fundraising and managing externally funded programs. • You have affinity with the Oxfam Novib priority themes, specifically aim 1 and aim 4, and you are able to analyse gender issues as cross-cutting themes in your programs. • Besides this, you are a team player and have excellent social skills. • You have excellent communication skills. • You have an excellent command of spoken and written Portuguese and English.
Salary indication Salary scale 9 with a minimum pay of € 2581,- and maximum of € 3971,- gross per month on the basis of a 36-hours week.
