RECEPTIONIST GRADE II (1 POST) – Main Campus Qualifications and Experience:
Holder of Form VI certificate with principal passes in English, Swahili and Geography with work experience of not less than three years.
Duties:
Answers telephones from within and distant exchanges.
Connects calls within the exchange area and outside and raises appropriate charges where required.
Makes bookings for international exchange and prepares necessary records and report to his/her Supervisor
Carries out minor repairs.
Supervises and coaches subordinate staff.
Perform any other duties as may be determined from time to time by one’s reporting officer.

Qualifications and Experience:
Holder of National Form IV Certificate who has completed a one year pre-nursing course from a recognized Nursing Training Centre with work experience of not less than three years.
Duties:
• Maintains cleanliness of the infrastructure including floors, walls, windows lockers, toilets, bathrooms and surroundings, as well as making beds and tiding rooms and wards
• Ferries and distributes food to patients
• Assists nurses in administering drugs, dressing wounds and administration of intramuscular injections only

• Monitors and records temperature, blood pressure and purse
• Takes specimen
• Performs any other duties as may be assigned by one’s reporting officer.

PRINCIPAL OFFICE ASSISTANT (1 Post ) – LIBRARY
Qualifications and Experience:
Holder of Form IV School Certificate or equivalent.
Duties:
• Maintaining cleanliness in offices and on book shelves.
• Dusting of books, table, chairs and computers.
• Pasting book pockets, date due and other labels in books
• Performing messengerial duties.
• Collecting books and other information materials left by readers on the reading tables
• Helping to maintain a good office environment by answering phones and providing simple directional enquiries
• Performing any other duty which may be assigned by the job supervisor(s).
SALARY SCALE: POSS 9
SECURITY GUARD GRADE II – (1 post) Qualifications and Experience:
Form IV certificate with passes in English, Kiswahili, History or Civics or Form VI with passes in English, Kiswahili and History plus National Service Training and/or People's Militia Training Phase II and/or any other form of military training with work experience of not less than three years. The candidate must be vetted by the police.
Duties:
This is a training grade for regular security work under close supervision
Assists in the daily routine around the campus so as to maintain peace and order

To guard the property of the University.
Performs any other duties as assigned by one’s reporting officer.

SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR GRADE II (1 Post) – Main Campus Qualifications and Experience:
Holder of BSc. in Computer Science, Information Technology or B.Sc in any relevant Computer studies and has obtained a Masters degree in relevant field OR has relevant first degree and has completed appropriate professional level of IT industry certification with work experience of not less than three years in system administration in MS-Windows or Linux Server environment.
Duties:
• Responsible for planning, establishing and implementing user management policies that will ensure that the available university ICT resources and machinery are optimally used by the right individuals.
• Responsible for planning for acquisition or development, installation, customization and administration of the university ICT systems to ensure that the university has right ICT facilities. This include administration of the university LAN infrastructure, servers, printers and PCs allocated to all university offices.
• Responsible for establishing and implementing security, backup and recovery procedures to ensure that the University systems are highly secured and protected from any faulty and that when disaster occurs, the time needed to recover the systems in minimal.
• Responsible for providing technical support to users of systems as well as other directorate staff whenever appropriate in order to optimize the use of available ICT investment. This include technical troubleshooting of the systems and planning and providing training support so as to ensure that every planned activity is carried out in time.
• Responsible for advising the director of ICT on all matters related to computerization activities to the university.
• Carry out any other activities related to his field as assigned by his/her superiors.
SALARY SCALE: PUSS 15-16
