Applyonline: www.savethechildren.org Summary The Health and Nutrition Team Leader, is responsible for managing a team of health professionals and overseeing the implementation of Save the Children's Maternal Child Health and Nutrition program in Mozambique. Responsibilities Program Development and Fundraising : Maintain strategic overview of donor programmatic trends, ensure trends are captured in strategy, programs and activities Ensure regular communication with donors Ensure development of high quality proposals and budgets that are reflective of the needs of beneficiaries Implement high quality Maternal Child Health and Nutrition Programs: Coordinate with health and nutrition team in Maputo and grant management division to monitor grants implemented at the provincial and central levels Ensure best practices are shared Advocacy, networking and campaigning: Lead and coordinate the Save the Children Every One campaign in Mozambique Coordinate relationships with the Ministry of Health, ensuring that Save the Children provides regular technical support to the Ministry in areas such as Newborn health for example; maintain links with stakeholders, task forces, civil society network, attend relevant meetings Provide advice and support to health and nutrition interventions related to emergencies, participate in UN Emergency Health Cluster Coordinate with Save the Children regional and global advocacy teams to ensure key health advocacy issues are discussed in international forums Research, Analysis and documentation: Harmonize Monitoring and Evaluation systems for the Save the Children Mozambique program; Ensure excellence in documentation of health and child survival programs; lead documentation of program learning; Provide senior level guidance on key research areas and areas of innovation; inform senior management regarding potential new directions for health and child survival programming.
Requirements BA and MA in Public Health or a related degree Minimum 8 years of experience in designing, implementing and managing health and nutrition programs in an international development context Demonstrated experience in developing effective working relationships with senior stakeholders from government agencies, international organizations and academic institutions at a national, regional and global level Strong writing skills, proven skills in effective proposal writing, successful track record in securing funding for programs Excellent supervisory skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically Fluent in English, both written and spoken Working knowledge of Portuguese, preferred Ability and willingness to travel within Mozambique and outside of Mozambique if required
