Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work: International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.

Summary The primary function of the GBV Program Coordinator/ Manager is to ensure GBV concerns are integrated into emergency response activities and to lead GBV coordination and program implementation.
Program Planning • Work closely with the Team Leader/Country Director to meet understand program goals and to meet expectations • Lead/participate in a coordinated rapid analysis to better understand risks of GBV, to map points of service for survivors of GBV, and to identify support structures • Initiate planning for longer-term GBV prevention and response activities, including case management systems, as emergency stabilizes • Contribute to production of proposals for any new projects
Coordination • Coordinate with all relevant actors and actively participate in GBV sub-cluster (where active) • As needed, support GBV coordination groups to develop inclusive membership, terms of reference, information management systems, standard operating procedures, and to build capacity of GBV partners • Work with partners and community members to develop a referral pathway and referral mechanism for AoR • Participate in additional cluster working groups to ensure GBV integration
Training • Organize and lead trainings for partner organizations working in various sectors • Organize and lead trainings for key groups of first responders • Organize and co-facilitate trainings for medical practitioners in clinical care for sexual assault survivors • Identify and train community-based volunteers for prevention activities and support of survivors • Build capacity of local organizations providing psychosocial support
Representation • Represent the organization at meetings as appropriate • Ensure maximum visibility of the agency amongst the UN and NGO community • Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organization’s Code of Conduct
Human Resources Management • Assist in the selection, training and support of qualified program staff • Develop support strategies for staff and introduce principles of self care
Security • Ensures application and compliance of security protocols and policies • Consider security implications of all program activities, reviewing new initiatives with national staff, partners and community leaders Qualifications: • Advanced degree in Social Work, Public Health, International Development or other relevant field of study preferred • Three years of field experience, including experience in GBV program management and GBV coordination • Experience in emergencies and conflict areas strongly preferred • Relevant regional experience strongly preferred • Familiarity with standards and guidelines for GBV programming and coordination as well as guidance on prevention of SEA • Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs • Profound cross-cultural awareness • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations • Excellent decision making skills • Team player and strong communication skills, both oral and written • Proficient in computer applications, especially with MS Word and MS Excel, MS PowerPoint a plus
