Responsibilties:
The Associate Technical Advisor in Reproductive Health is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to PSI country platforms globally with particular focus on the 15 WHP countries. The ATA will play a key role in WHP project management and coordination with country backstopping teams, identifying and managing WHP country project technical assistance needs, ensuring quality of health services delivery data, and supporting the overall achievement of the SRHT team's strategic goals and objectives. Duties include:
- Provide assistance to country platforms on reproductive health technical issues, strategic issues, development of program marketing plans, and assistance in communications targeting beneficiaries and providers (medical detailing)
- Assist in the development and rollout of MIS and health services database
- Develop and review annual work plans, proposals, project budgets and donor reports for WHP
- Coordinate communications between WHP core program management team and country backstopping teams
- Monitor and analyze WHP country and total project performance and capacity across a range of technical and operational issues
- Serve as point person and liaison for assigned region to manage and respond to technical assistance requests from the field
- Manage information exchange and knowledge management channels such as KIX, socialcast, etc. Maintain and distribute reference materials
- Support external relations and visibility, including liaising with donors, representing PSI at meetings and conferences, participating on technical working groups and advising on the development and rollout of public relations strategies and materials
- Champion selected topics within the SRHT department (e.g. specific health area, specific products, marketing, communications, metrics)
- Conduct assessment and technical assistance trips
- Participate in the development of strategic and business plans for SRHT department
- Assist in new business development by identifying new project and product opportunities, designing new projects and writing proposals
- Fulfill other programmatic and administrative functions as required
Experience:
- Master's degree in a relevant subject (MBA, MIA, etc.) strongly preferred; relevant Bachelor's degree from accredited university required
- Excellent writing skills in English required
- At least two years work experience in a developing country
- Demonstrated experience in MIS marketing, communications and. program management preferred, experience in medical detailing a plus
- Fluency in Spanish or French preferred
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet software, management information systems and data analysis
The successful candidate will also have excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and cross-cultural skills; capacity to manage complexity and deliver results with limited guidance under pressure; and demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize a variety of tasks within designated deadlines. Preference will be given to candidates with private sector experience in marketing, communications, or advertising; familiarity with women's health issues (particularly family planning and maternal health); knowledge of the international donor community; and an interest in private sector approaches to development.
