Biogeochemistry Field Technician

Tanzania American international Development Corporation 2000 Limited (Tanzam 2000) with its sister companies of Tancan Mining Company Limited and Buckreef Gold Company limited is a minerals and metals exploration company.

Among its various projects, the companies operate three advanced projects which are scheduled for production in the next twenty four (24) months. Tanzam 2000 therefore invites suitable qualified Personnel to apply for the positions of Senior Geologist, Biogeochemistry field botanist, Biogeochemistry field technician and Biogeochemistry laboratory technician at its field office, located atBuckreefKatoro area in Geita Region.

Qualifications:

Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (d Level)

A diploma certificate in mining or botany from the government-recognised institutions A minimum of three months experience in the mineral exploration industry is an added bonus

Skills:

Computer literacy for MS-Office packages especially word and excel GPS and map reading skills

Driving skill is an added bonus

Duties and Responsibilities:

To be familiarised with TRE biogeochemical sampling and safety techniques as stipulated in the TREBGC Field Sampling Protocol

To' assist the leading botanists with all biogeochemical field surveys including identification of sampling species, field sampling, field data recording, GPS and map reading, data entry and downloading as well as geo-botanical mapping

To ensure that all vegetation samples are correctly handled, labelled, recorded and stored during the field operation until dispatched to the biogeochemical prep laboratory in an approved manner

To assist the field botanist in the execution of the specialized field campaigns such as follow-up surveys, baseline studies, quality control studies and geo-botanical mapping in coordination with BGCData Coordinator & BGC managing Consultant

To assist the field botanist in the filling of the field daily log book

To assist the field botanist in the supervision of the supporting and casual labourers throughout the field working durations

To assist the field botanist in the filling of all field paper works that include field data sheets, field sample dispatch forms and field equipment dispatch forms before dispatched to the Buckreef office

To fulfill the duties of the leading botanists in their absence

To ensure the safe keeping of all company equipment and properties To assist in the training of new recruits

Reporting Procedures

To report to the field botanist on the daily field work or any new developments

To report any misconduct carried out by company's employees that will endanger the safety of other employees and or company properties
