Biogeochemistry Field Botanist

Tanzania American international Development Corporation 2000 Limited (Tanzam 2000) with its sister companies of Tancan Mining Company Limited and Buckreef Gold Company limited is a minerals and metals exploration company.

Among its various projects, the companies operate three advanced projects which are scheduled for production in the next twenty four (24) months. Tanzam 2000 therefore invites suitable qualified Personnel to apply for the positions of Senior Geologist, Biogeochemistry field botanist, Biogeochemistry field technician and Biogeochemistry laboratory technician at its field office, located atBuckreefKatoro area in Geita Region.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Biogeochemistry, Botany, Horticulture, Agriculture or related subjects from any reputable, internationally recognized institution

Skills:

Computer literacy for MS-Office packages especially word and excel, internet surfing & e-mailing

Map reading skills

Driving skill is-an added bonus

Duties and Responsibilities:

To be conversant with the TRE biogeochemical sampling and safety techniques as stipulated in theTRE BGC Field Sampling Protocol

To conduct the biogeochemical field surveys including identification of sampling species, field sampling, field data recording, GPS and map reading, field data entry as well as downloading in an orderly and scientific manner.

To ensure that all field samples are correctly handled, labelled, recorded and stored during the field operation until dispatched to the prep laboratory in an approved manner

To carry out specialized field campaigns such as follow-up surveys. baseline studies, quality control studies and geo-botanical mapping in coordination with BGC Data Coordinator & BGC managing Consultant

To supervise the field technicians, supporting staff and casual labourers throughout the field campaigns

To manage the field administration issues including the well fare of the field team, petty cash expenditures, field and equipment supplies and casual labourers service contracts To ensure a fair and safe working relationship with all his/her team members

To supervise the filling of the field daily log book

To ensure that all field paper works that Include field data sheets, field sample dispatch forms and field equipment dispatch forms are accurately and completely filled before dispatched to the Buckreef office

To ensure the safe keeping of all company equipment and properties To train the new recruits

Reporting Procedures

To prepare the end of month field statistics before submitting them to the BGC Data Coordinator

To monitor field supplies and notify the BGC data coordinator of impending shortages To report back to the BGCData Coordinator and BGC Managing Consultant on any new developments/changes during field campaigns

To report any misconduct carried out by company's employees that will endanger the safety of other employees and or company properties
