UTT Projects and Infrastructure Development PLC., is a newly established Government company promoted by the Unit Trust of Tanzania (UTT) is a leading fund manager in the country and currently has assets under management [AUM) to the tune of over Tzs. 120 billion (i.e. around 75 million US dollar).
The core functions of un Projects and Infrastructure Development Pk., is to render multidimensional services in the functional areas of Project Management, Infrastructure Development, Property Management, Project Financing/ Funds Arrangement, Project Evaluation, Preparation of Business Plans/ Feasibility Studies, Financial Re-engineering Services, Third Party Negotiations, and other associated services.
In order to discharge its mandate, the un Projects and Infrastructure Development PLC now invites applications from competent and qualified personnel to fill the below mentioned positions:-
Reports to:The Chief Executive Officer
Job Purpose:
The holder of this position will supervise day-to-day functions of the Project Management Department. Key role of this position is to plan, execute and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within the set budgetary constraints. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of all team members including third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to the plan. The holder of this position will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout the life cycle of any project.
Job-Description/ Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans and coordinates project's scheduling, budgeting and administrative tasks Develops project strategy and prepare project handbook
To ensure baseline project documents are produced, maintained and available to all parties concerned and effectively used
To ensure assigned projects are correctly planned and managed during execution Monitor and controls financial status of a project
To prepare reports on financial, resources, technical issues, customer satisfaction status of assigned projects to management
Manages the process of scope definition and change control, estimating and negotiations of contract Establish and executes detailed plans to ensure risks are mitigated and opportunities are realized Collaborates with sales to ensure project proposals are supported with proposed deliverables
Develop overall project plans for cross-organizational projects, consistent with specific project objectives as defined by project owner and key stakeholders
Ensure team members are executing identified and assigned tasks Provide appropriate tracking and reporting per plan to management
Lead and direct all phases of project or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion. Perform as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives
Participate in the development of Project Management strategies, policies, processes and procedures and manages the implementation to ensure all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled
Develop and implement plans for project teams. Build milestones into plans, monitors progress and adjusts them as necessary to take any changes into account
Identify important potential risks related to a project - minimizes exposure and risk on projects and ensure attainment of value for money
Management of project risk, including preparation and submission of a Risk Management plan and a risk action plan
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety health and environmental procedures across the projects in order to promote a healthy and safe work environment
Organize testing, commissioning, operations & maintenance manuals and handover
Any other duties assigned by the appropriate authorities from time-to-time.
Required Skills, Experience and Qualification
Qualification:
A holder of BSc Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Building Economics or Architectural or any other related field
A Post graduate study in MSc in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Building Economics or Architectural or any other related field
A combination of qualification(s) in project management and engineering/ architectural studies /quantity surveying will be an ideal combination provided that the candidate also has provable practical experience
Possession of internationally recognized project management certification will be an added advantage
Experience:A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification work experience of the relevant field is essential. Hands-on experience of managing and implementation of projects on real time basis is desired.
