NIRAS is experiencing a rapid increase in our large infrastructure projects portfolio, including projects within offshore and marine constructions.
We are therefore seeking experienced structural engineers with a high level of design and technical competence and an interest in project management.
Job description
As a specialist, you thrive on the following role and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation of guidelines for defining the design basis, design layout and calculation models for pier construction (e.g.. oil terminals) and container terminal projects.
- Act as technical lead on the project team, in connection with design development of all steel structures.
- Take on the role of mentor and technical advisor for junior colleagues in connection with project implementation.
- Undertake specific design work.
Candidates should expect the job to include some travelling (min. 30 days / year). We have currently, projects in countries such as: Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Togo, Ghana and many more.
General qualifications and experience
We are looking for a structural engineer with a high level of technical expertise and solid experience in design of large steel structures with the following characteristics:
- Located in seismic activity areas
- Dynamically affected
- Constructed with an advanced latticework
Prior experience in design of marine constructions, is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
The person we are looking for will have good communication and interpersonal skills with exposure to clients as well as colleagues, naturally inquisitive, technically and professionally engaged and possess a genuine interest in acquiring new knowledge and sharing existing experience.
