Agribusiness Training Specialist, Angola We are currently seeking a short-term Agribusiness Training Specialist for the ongoing Gates Foundation-funded PRORENDA project in Angola. This program is focused on expanding market access and productivity for smallholder farmers in the central highlands of Angola, with a focus on high-value horticultural crops, including potatoes, onions, pulses and tomatoes. World Vision is the prime implementer of PRORENDA; ACDI/VOCA has a subaward that focuses on association and market-linkages strengthening for beneficiary farmers and farm groups. Responsibilities: • Accompany a contact farmer trip at the beginning of the assignment to understand opportunities, constraints and features of value chains for target crops. • In coordination with World Vision’s Market Linkages Manager, ensure training materials are translated into Portuguese and Mbundu, then printed and distributed through extensionists and to ADESPOV training staff. • Conduct three training-of-trainers sessions in the FaaB curriculum for local government extensionists and local NGO counterpart ADESPOV staff.
Qualifications: • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, agribusiness and marketing, agricultural economics or another related field is required; master’s degree preferred. • Minimum of 5-8 years’ relevant and progressive work experience in Mozambique, Angola or other regions of Africa with a similar development context is required. • Demonstrated experience delivering agricultural training, including agribusiness, market linkages, and other relevant topics is required; training-of-trainers experience is preferred. • Excellent communication and reporting skills are required. • Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
