Purpose:
Under the supervision of the C4D Specialist Polio & Routine Immunization, and in close coordination with the Immunization team, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the WCARO polio team for entry and analysis of communication data from the regions’ polio SIA implementing countries, collected during and after polio campaigns. This entails a comprehensive review and an identification of gaps to be filled with existing data, in view of ensuring quality.
The results of data analyses, (spreadsheets, graphics and charts) generated would be made available to the WCARO polio and EPI team for decision-making related to technical oversight and quality assurance of polio SIAs activities planning and implementation. This position would support country offices (COs) with useful information to make their communication strategies evidence-based.
This would enable the WCARO polio team to be better equipped to respond to UNICEF’s accountability framework and contribute to the needed documentation as we get to the polio endgame phase.

Qualification:
- Advanced university degree in the social epidemiology or social/behavioral sciences (Sociology, Medical Anthropology or Health Education). A first university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

- Five years of relevant work experience in management, monitoring and evaluation of social development programmes.
- Two years in developing countries, with practical experience in the adaptation and application of communication planning and M&E processes to programmes.
- At least one instance of exposure to emergency programming, including preparedness planning.
- Experience working with polio eradication and/or with broader immunization is highly desirable.
