Currently, FHI360 in Tanzania is seeking for individuals with qualities, qualifications and passion to serve as Public- Private Partnership Advisor on a 5 year anticipated USAID-funded–Caring for Children and Empowering Young People (C2EYP) Project . The project will enable most vulnerable children (MVC) and other young people to access services for improving health, nutrition, education, protection, livelihoods and psychosocial well-being.
Position Key Responsibilities:
Playing a leading role in identifying, designing, and brokering public-private partnerships that focus on agriculture, health, natural resource management, and/or water, sanitation and hygiene services (WASH). Also providing technical expertise on public-private partnership issues; Representing FHI 360 on public-private sector issues at technical, policy and strategic planning meetings; and engaging private sector partners and stakeholders. Also providing timely and accurate reporting to USAID on all partnership project areas.
Position Requirements:
• At least 7 years of experience in East Africa, preferably in supporting agriculture, health, natural resource management, and/or WASH services Degree in business administration, economics, finance, or another relevant discipline from an accredited university, with preference for candidates possessing a Master’s degree or higher;
• Proven ability to identify high-value partnerships with private and public sector stakeholders and to leverage private investment towards addressing public needs;
• A proven ability to work collaboratively with and lead negotiations and reach a consensus among several private and public sector stakeholders;
• Experience with impact investment and creating access to finance highly desirable;
• Demonstrated experience in understanding, brokering, and/or overseeing the development of high-value public-private alliances and partnerships;
• Ability to work independently and effectively with tight deadlines;
• Strong interpersonal, ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with the private sector, citizen groups, and other key project stakeholders;
• 2+ years’ experience living or working in Tanzania or another developing country is preferable;
• Experience with a USG cooperative agreement preferred;
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with host country government personnel, stakeholders, NGO partners, and international donor agencies;
• Writing and oral presentation skills in English; Proficiency in Swahili and English;
