Marie Stopes Tanzania (MST) is a marketing-focused, results-oriented social enterprise, which uses modern management and marketing techniques to provide family planning, reproductive and sexual healthcare and allied services. MST is a member of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) Global Partnership, which operates in over 45 countries worldwide. MST’s goal is to improve quality of life in Tanzania by dramatically improving access to and use of family planning and other reproductive health services.
Job purpose
The Procurement and Logistics Lead is responsible for the systematic execution of all procurement procedures, and for the timely and cost effective purchasing of all equipment, supplies and services required by MST. The Procurement & Logistics Lead ensures that all purchases adhere to MSI Partnership best-practice, follow donor-compliance guidelines, and are fit for purpose and best value for money.
Key Responsibility
• Participate in business planning process and organizational development to understand and prepare plans involved around organizational procurement.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with potential suppliers and other stakeholders working in the area of Procurement.
• Work closely with logistics officer to ensure MST warehouse management is in line with MSI Global Partnership standards and best – practice, and that warehouse systems ensure efficiency of stored goods and supplies.
• Work closely with fleet coordinator to ensure the implementation of the new GPS/Fleet Management system – for all outreach and support vehicles.
• Ensure that all members of Team are performance managed i.e. have annual KPIs set, performance review conducted on regular basis and feedback provided
Minimum requirements
• Minimum of a University Degree in procurement/supply chain management,
• Knowledge of donor procurement regulations
• At least 3-4 years of experience in a management position, preferably in the health management, family planning, community development, and/or social marketing industry
• Demonstrated experience of strong negotiating skills and actively managing relations with suppliers.
• At least 3 years’ experience managing donor funded organization procurement/supply chain including technical and financial components;
