Land O’Lakes is seeking an experienced leader for the role of M&E Manager on an anticipated livestock genetics improvement program funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation—Public-Private Partnership for Artificial Insemination Delivery (PAID) in East Africa. The future program’s goal is to increase private sector investment in artificial insemination goods and services in Ethiopia and Tanzania. The program will use a public and private sector partnership approach to increase access to improved and appropriate dairy genetics in East Africa. With our private sector partners we will test and introduce new reproductive technologies (sexed semen, embryo transfer, in-vitro fertilization, etc.) to increase the supply of improved heifers.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Manager will be responsible for the following:
Implementing the M&E system for the dairy genetics improvements program in Tanzania using an adaptive and evidence-based approach;
Using M&E information to help program staff continuously update the program theory of change and implementation;
Coordinating the use of new technologies for electronic data collection and to inform program design and implementation in real-time;
Leading qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis to develop an evidence base to evaluate the impact of activities;
Coordinating and consolidating data results in Tanzania;
Training field teams and specifically milkshed coordinators in the implementation of the M&E plan and system;
Working with partners to build their M&E capacity;
Coordinating and consistently reporting on program results in coordination with the Evaluation and Learning Director, program management and/or monitoring and evaluation team at headquarters;
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, agriculture, economics or business-related field;
Minimum of 3 years of experience in research, data analysis and reporting or monitoring and evaluation for international programs;
Experience with new tools, technology and software including electronic data collection, Microsoft access, advanced Microsoft excel, etc.
Prior experience using GIS/Geospatial analysis preferred;
Strong understanding of and facility developing qualitative and quantitative indicators;
Strong computer skills, including use of excel, statistical software and knowledge management systems;
Strong communication skills including writing (English);
Previous experience working with projects funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation preferred;
Previous experience in market research and consumer insights for the private sector preferred.
