Healthy & Safety
General Purpose
To act as lead competent person for health and safety activities for Tanzania projects.
To ensure the Nokia Services organization including Nokia partners complies with Vodacom and other customer health and safety requirements and HS legislation and Nokia health and safety standards.
To work proactively with various level of managers and field team to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the project
Main Responsibility Area:
Identify initiates and follows up health & safety corrective and preventive actions for projects.
Responsible for influencing project management team and partners on health & safety issues.
Acts as customer interface for project health & safety management and ensure Nokia Tanzania meet local customer requirements, OHS legislation and NSN health & safety standards.
Support the development, maintenance and monitor the execution of project/customer specific health & safety plan and ensure alignment with customer and suppliers contractual reqUirements.
Conduct Health & Safety Risk Assessment for projects and implement control measures to '1litigate the risk.
Conduct Health & Safety site inspections, report findings and follow up corrective/preventive action implementation
Conduct health & safety induction for Nokia team and partners.
Facilitate all required health & safety training and keeps the training matrix updated.
Ensure Nokia field team and partner team has required Personal Protective Equipment
Ensure any work at height is properly planned with required training available and usage of fall protection devices; medical fitness and supervision on ground.
Ensure Nokia team and partners complies with Nokia Road safety standard including training, Journey Management and provision of vehicle tracking system
Implement Nokia Life Saving Rule and Vodacom Absolute Rule in the project
Conduct periodic supplier audit and assess the level of Health & Safety compliance
Use IPM Quality Module to upload H&S Inspection findings
Ensure all accident/incident/near miss are timely reported and conduct investigations
Conduct various health & safety meetings and also attend meeting with customer and project team and represent H&S and keep meeting minutes.
Keep all H&S records up to date and also timely update VF tracker in Sharenet
Prepare monthly report on health & safety and circulate to project team and conduct review meetings
Liaise with regional and global team on HS and submit various reports and attend meetings
Any other task assigned by Health & Safety Manager
Demonstrates a strong verbal and written communication skill in English and Swahili
Additional Requirement:
Demonstrates the ability to work autonomously to accomplish task Without direct supervision
Exhibits the ability to train and facilitate learning to ensure appropriate safety skills, knowledge, and behaviors are instituted within the project team
Previous experience with OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety management systems
Education:
NEBOSH IGC or equivalent
