Various Long and Short Term Positions
Chemonics International is a leading international development consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. with more than 25 years of experience implementing agricultural development programs in East Africa. Chemonics seeks experienced professionals for an anticipated multi-year USAID-funded Feed the Future agricultural competitiveness project in Tanzania. This project will aim to increase incomes of smallholder farmers through enhanced productivity, increased investments, and improved market systems. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Please note that all positions are subject to program award. We are seeking mid- and senior-level candidates in the following fields:
Long and Short Term Specialists
• Horticultural production and value chain
• Nutrition and behavior change communication
• Market systems
• Agricultural transaction facilitation
• Association strengthening
• Input supply management
• Rural infrastructure
• Agriculture and trade policy
• Business development services
• Marketing
• Microfinance and SME finance
• Public-private partnerships
• Gender and youth empowerment
• Capacity building and training
• Communications
• Monitoring and evaluation
• Administration (finance; grants; procurement)
Qualifications
• Degree required in agriculture, economics, or relevant to the position applied to; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience promoting agricultural production and marketing in Tanzania
• Proven track record in successful implementation of technical assignments and proven managerial/supervisory experience
• Prior experience with USAID highly preferred
• Experience working collaboratively with the government of Tanzania, international donors, and local organizations
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Fluency in English is required.
