Shaft Electrical Foreman
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Attend daily planned meetings with Shaft Engineer, conduct daily meetings with supervisors and ensure that a weekly toolbox meeting is conducted.
• Attend daily shift changeover meetings with mining department and communicate changeover information.
• Communicate weekly schedules to supervisors and ensure all scheduled jobs have been completed or rescheduled.
• Ensure all compliance and non-compliance work to the weekly plan has been communicated to the planning department.
• Control workforce attendance, shift schedules and evaluate skills requirements for the job.
• Ensure training and rotational leave schedules are adhered to.
• Monitor and control budgets and labour force overtime.
• Monitor and control work activities, quality, completion and delays.
• Provide leadership, supervision, skills training and support to employees in accordance with department requirements and individual progress and development plans.
• Provide responsible information and reports to the Superintendent.
• Implement an effective communication system and culture to allow employees to ask questions and receive information.
• Implement an effective training and development program for employees to develop their skills.
• Implement employee performance evaluations at least semi-annually in order to identify high potential employees who can take on a larger role, and improve low performing employees.
• Create a safety culture whereby employees have pride and ownership of their workplaces resulting in very high housekeeping standards.
• Implement a measurement system of cost awareness and fiscal responsibility, and support that culture to achieve cost reductions.
• Implement a continuous Improvement system within the workforce, where employees are engaged in their jobs and work together to implement improvements for the betterment of the employees and the business.
• Foster a culture of teamwork where all employees work together and share their skills for the betterment of the team.
• Design and implement an appropriate Electrical structure to ensure the electrical equipment is operated at the required throughput and performance.
• Ensure all employees have a defined position description, which they have read and understand, and they have a clear understanding what is expected of them to be considered successful in their position.
• Recruit quality personnel in a timely manner to fill any vacancies within the organizational structure.
• Demonstrate leadership to the team as an exemplary employee who is professional, stable, positive, demonstrates teamwork, considerate of others, decisive, punctual, acts as an owner of the company, and beyond reproach.
• Ensure accurate employee time and attendance records are maintained and it can be demonstrated that all employees are working the required hours. Any deviations such as AWOL’s, sick days, or late arrivals are dealt with according to the company policies.
• Identify Capital projects which can add value to the business, and then support the implementation of such projects to ensure successful improvements.
• Implementation and execution of all tasks and instructions as instructed by superiors.
• Provide relief as Superintendent during rotational leave period.

Education Requirements:
• Qualified Electrician
Experience Requirements:
• Sound experience as Electrical Foreman of underground and surface mining operations.
• Min 5 years foreman experience as Shaft and Winder Electrical Foreman.
• Sound experience of deep level trackless and conventional mining operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a well established electrical team.
