Reports to: Operations Director
Purpose of the position:
To provide technical support and manage the integrated programs, ensure programs within the block have optimum impact, cost effective and maintain high level of excellence, accountability, reporting, monitoring and evaluation as per approved policies, systems, procedures and donor requirements.
Major Responsibilities
• Provide support and coordinate the implementation of ongoing grants, Area Development Programs (ADPs) and Private Non sponsorship (PNS) projects to meet desired goals and objectives and identify opportunities for new projects/programs based on the country strategic plan
• Ensure integration of all programs/projects and grants such that a true holistic approach to transformational development is found in the design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation.
• Ensure high quality reports of all programs and grants are submitted and uploaded of sponsorship programs reports into PMIS in a timely manner and meeting donor reporting requirements
• Provide technical support in sponsorship strategy development, review of the standards and ensure timely implementation of the business processes, donor satisfaction and retention
• Ensure that recommendations from audit reports and audit findings (relating to program operations) are addressed and implementation plans are developed and implemented.
• In coordination with Finance team, provide leadership and support to the Operations Management Team to ensure effective management of the teams in terms of finance as well as compliance with all relevant sections of the Field Financial Manual.
• In coordination with the People and Culture Division (Human Resources), provide support to the specific zonal teams within a block to ensure effective management of their teams in terms of forecasting Human Resources needs, core competencies identification, development, capacity building and performance management.
• Provide technical support in capacity building of program staff in development and key programming areas (LEAP, Child Wellbeing Outcome -CBWO, and other new WV initiatives).
• Monitor institutionalization of Operations Block performance dashboards (Head office, zonal, cluster and ADPs levels)
• Provide support for WVT ADPs and SEDA integration initiative and economic development activities (including TSACCOS , IGAs) within the Block
• Networking with Support Offices, donors and other stakeholders on sponsorship and private non sponsorship projects
Required Qualifications:
• Masters Degree in Economic Development, Sociology, Agriculture Sciences or relevant field
• 5 years experience with at least 3 years experience in programming in an International NGO
Technical Skills & Abilities:
• Computer skills
• Monitoring and supervision skills
• Experience in working with donor funds in an INGO environment
• Working knowledge of proposal writing and good negotiation skills
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and donors
