POSITION TITLE: Program Management Specialist/Agriculture Unit
POSITION LOCATION: USAID, SO7 Office
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week
POSITION GRADE: FSN-12 (Ugshs. 87,067,500 to 125,851,069 p.a. inclusive of allowances).
USAID/Uganda is recruiting a qualified Ugandan to fill the position of Program Management Specialist/Agriculture Unit.
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
Serves as Agriculture Unit Leader, and is the Mission’s senior advisor and expert on agriculture issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education Required: A Master’s degree in agricultural field, with a strong emphasis or specialization in rural development is required.
2. Work Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of experience working in rural agricultural development with multi-lateral or bi-lateral organizations is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level IV (fluent) English proficiency written and oral communication skills is required.
4. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Government of Uganda’s Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP) compact, and its investment plan (DSIP), is required.
5. Skills and Abilities: Must have ability to work in a team environment, coordinate well with others, and provide leadership in the areas of their competencies. S/he must possess strong interpersonal and team-building skills. Must have superb communication skills, commitment to transparency, and an outstanding ability to exercise sound and independent judgment, discretion and patience on a daily basis. Computer literacy in word processing using Microsoft, and spreadsheets is required.
