1. POSITION : LOGISTICS & PROCUREMENT
MANAGER-1 POST
DUTY STATION : PRODUCT FACILITY, UHMG WAREHOUSE
REPORTS TO : DIRECTOR PRODUCT FACILITY (DPF) Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the procurement function of the DFID-funded Project, and serves as the technical procurement person for all UHMG PF product and stocks procurement. The job holder is a key member of the team, and contributes to the strategic direction of this product and distribution unit. The person for this position should have the capacity to work under minimum supervision, maintain systematic records, as well as ensuring the timely performance and completion of assignments, while upholding our Core Values.
Essential Job Functions:
The Logistics and Procurement Manager will be specifically responsible for the following tasks:-
1. Prepare all documentation including PFI, LPOs, and contracts with supplier of FP products.
2. Place orders based on the product facility requirement with i the suppliers including products, equipment, sundries and
stationery.
3. Source products efficiently both locally and internationally by finding the market selling prices so that optimal profits are realized for the organization.
4. Ensure that customer requirements (if not in stock) are procured on time for onward delivery to beneficiaries.
5. Follow up with suppliers on all shipments locally and internationally to ensure timely procurement and delivery of required products.
6. Clearing of all imports from the port of entry and delivery to AFFORD/UHMG warehouse.
7. Follow up with AFFORD/UHMG accounts department to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
8. Provide the Warehouse Supervisor with ail expected shipment details and goods received.
9. Prepare monthly report with details on schedule and status of all shipments expected by the AFFORD/UHMG PF warehouse and stocks received
10. Work closely with the Sales and Distribution Manager to ensure that sufficient inventory of all products including buffer stocks are maintained at all times.
11. Periodically review PF software systems, and advise on adjustments required (if any) to improve efficiencies, of the customized software
12. Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Job requirement
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in studies relevant to Procurement or Finance. Post graduate qualification in related field, and professional qualification in CIPS, or CPA will be an advantage. Computer literate with hands-on experience in logistics and procurement management as well as in software packages is a must. At least 4 years work experience in Logistics and Procurement management, in a private sector or development organization. Robust understanding of Logistics and .procurement management. Must have good customer development and negotiating skills. A Self starter, focused, disciplined, have the drive and dynamism to work under pressure with competing deadlines, and possess the ability to make an immediate impact. Possess excellent communication, advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal, analytical and result- oriented skills, experience in managing customers, and have the ability to discern and identify potential customers for the organizations' products. Good judgment, initiative, high sense of responsibility, tact, ability to plan. Organized, honest, with a high level of energy and integrity, and able to work under minimum supervision. Should be flexible, innovative, with good record keeping, communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills. Should be in position to work in a team and make positive contributions.
