VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Education Development Center, Inc (EDC) is recruiting for a new USAID funded project, the "Literacy, Language and Learning Initiative" (LLL). LLL will provide professional development to over 24,000 Primary one to four teachers in 2,838 schools; improve proficiency in English, Kinyarwanda, and numeracy; train national mentors; and develop and distribute teaching and learning materials to all government primary schools over a five year period.
EDC would like to recruit for the following positions based in Kigali. Minimal requirements for all positions (in addition to specific requirements listed below): Experience in a similar or related position, preferably on USAID or other international projects; Ability to contribute effectively to team work; spirit of collaboration, partnership, initiative and mutual respect; Ability to multi task and prioritize; Ability to motivate colleagues and encourage them to produce quality work; Ability to work autonomously, with minimal direction and supervision; Knowledge of basic information technology tools (Word, internet, email).
Technical Positions: Minimal requirements for all technical positions (in addition to specific requirements outlined below): Undergraduate degree in the area of specialization and 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position; Fluency in English, French and Kinyarwanda; Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; Proven experience in leading - and contributing to the work of - a technical team; Ability to contribute effectively to team work, spirit of collaboration, partnership, and mutual respect; Ability to motivate colleagues and encourage them to produce quality work; Proven experience developing and fostering effective and collaborative partnerships with Ministry authorities at the national level, as well as local and international NGO partners; Demonstrated experience and technical expertise relevant to mentoring programs; Ability to work under and respect tight deadlines
Literacy and Numeracy Instructional Materials (Print and audio)Developers : Degree in Education, Communications or Arts; Ability to design creative but focused learning activities; Appreciation of the need for rigor and for respecting high standards of quality in the development of instructional materials; Ability to work under and respect tight deadlines.
