Contract: Fixed term contract until 30th September 2012 Location: Nairobi with travel to various locations.
In response to the East Africa Crisis, Tearfund is seeking a Disaster Management Advisor to support its local partners in the implementation of immediate relief and long term recovery projects.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in relief work and be able to demonstrate the ability to capacity build with partner organisations. In addition, candidates must have strong training, mentoring and facilitating skills.
The role involves approx. 60% of time travelling to Tearfund’s offices across Africa, with an average duration of 2 weeks in each location, therefore applicants must have strong cultural awareness and demonstrate an ability to adapt to new cultures and environments.
All posts involve potential contact with children and the recruitment process will include specific checks related to child protection issues.
