The NBD team tracks and responds to new funding opportunities from U.S. Government and non-U.S. Government entities. The majority of proposals submitted by the NBD team are in response to solicitations from USAID and CDC. NBD works closely with field and headquarters staff to structure and guide proposal development, including drafting technical content, staffing structure and recruitment, project budget, certifications, and any other proposal sections required by the donor. NBD also monitors completion and timely submission of proposals, ensuring that proposals submitted by EGPAF are competitive and of a consistently high quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the development of proposals in collaboration with a wide range of other Foundation staff across departments (program, research, finance, human resources, etc.).
• Assist with exploring new funding opportunities for the Foundation’s programs from public and private sources. .
• Participate in the Foundation’s interdepartmental New Business Working Group to assist with providing intelligence on new business opportunities and to prepare bidding recommendations to senior staff.
• Lead proposal efforts for Foundation concept papers and expressions of interest, and support NBD Officers on large complex proposals.
• Provide other new business development support to the department, upon request of the Director, New Business Development and New Business Development Manager.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in or exposure to new business development required with experience in international health and development programs.
• BA/BS required, Master’s degree in related field preferred but not required.
• Experience in the HIV/AIDS international public health arena preferred.
• Experience working in Africa a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Proven ability to work effectively and multi-task as member of a dynamic inter-departmental team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and writing skills, and interest in proposal management.
• Familiarity with U.S. Government funding sources required.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail- and goal-oriented; creative problem solving skills, and ability to work towards specific targets and goals.
• Ability to travel to support country program teams, up to 15-20% travel required.
