CHF International’s USAID Integrated Improved Livelihoods Program, locally known as Ejo Heza (Kinyarwanda for “brighter future”), will be implemented over five years, 2011 – 2016, with an aim to improve the livelihoods and food consumption of 75,000 of Rwanda’s very poor, particularly women. The program focuses on building the capacity of low income households to access financial services, improve agricultural production and enterprise, and improve health and nutrition
Position title: Behavior Change Communications (BCC) Officer
The program wishes to hire a BCC Officer to support its behavior change component who will;
1. Prepare content for media outreach materials such as brochures and banners
2. Work with USAID Ejo Heza team and partners to develop, test and disseminate messages and materials around the program elements.
3. Assist with the planning and organization of special events, promotional and outreach activities and targeted presentations
4. Manage the radio program
5. Manage the development of video content
6. Support in preparing reports, presentations, success stories and other publications.
7. Review and share promising practices and new developments in the field to support ongoing improvement and innovation across the program.
8. Set targets, and monitor program performance for quality, cost-effectiveness, and level of achievement.
9. Assisting the USAID Ejo Heza team with other related tasks as they arise.
Qualifications
• University degree in communications, public relations or journalism. Relevant Masters Degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in communication with a development organization preferred, radio, print and online media,
• Strong organizational and writing skills
• Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda required
• Proficiency in relevant office computer applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and publishing software
