Data Centre Operator
Purpose of the job
To effectively and efficiently ensure the BCX Data Centre infrastructure is administered as per the given corporate standards and procedures
Duties
Responsible for responding to the calls logged by various contracted clients hosting their infrastructure at the BCX Data Centre site situated in the Coastal (Pwani) region
To ensure the Data Centre facilities, such as air conditioners power, back-up power systems, communications links, security cameras, electric fence, access controls, lights, water etc. work as planned.
To ensure that the security around the Data Centre premises is maintained by only allowing authorised personnel to access the site through established Access controls after they have followed all the appropriate procedures
To promptly notify the Senior Systems Engineer, responsible for data centre infrastructure of any malfunction.
To ensure that the contracted service providers at the site who are responsible for cleanliness, gardening ‘and security are performing their roles as per respective contracts
To generate daily activity reports using Ms-Excel and submit them to various parties through Internet.
Perform other systems support activities as guided and under supervision of the ?enior Systems Engineer
Minimum Qualification and Experience
• 1 year Certificate in Information Technology or Advanced Level Secondary School Certificate with knowledge in Ms Office applications.
